ULTB bought and B&N!!!

OK I went on a book buying bender (bbb or BBBB for Big Book buying bender*), at B&N(1) last night. Today I happily cataloged my purchases. Low and behold I got a ULTB!

I would thought it would have been this book or books or Cahier, but no two other people have cataloged them.(a)

I even checked for combining. (Now watch, since I've type that one of the combiners will find it+) Behold my ULTB from B&N: The Meditator's Workbook: A Journey to the Center.

I am not going to mark it ULTB, I'll see if it lasts for a week.

* The difference between bbb and BBBB is purely a personal measurement. For me, anything below 5 books and or $100 dollars is bbb.**

(1) B&N - Barnes and Noble(2).

(2) By the way, the Barnes and Noble on Colorado Blvd in Denver Colorado, has got to be one of the coolest B&N in the country. Not that a B&N is that cool, but the place is happening. For a Thursday night at 9:00 PM there wasn't a place to sit(3)! There were several card games and a few chess games out front in the Starbucks cafe seating, which was also full. I am pretty sure I heard people speaking Spanish, Arabic, Japanese and maybe some Turkish and Russian. It just feels so Cosmopolitan. Oh and they do have books.

(3) OK I know you're going to say, B&N never have enough chairs...I am talking about floor space! I haven't gotten to sit in a B&N is years! The floor YA or Teen Romance isle was full of teens texting their friends or maybe twittering new books into their wish
lists.

(a)OK the only reason I cataloged a blank journal book was because I saw the ISBN on the label and thought it would be interesting to see if it would even work.

i have a couple ULTBs that i'm sure aren't really unique, but i do have one that actually seems to be. and i bought it at Borders.

it's Human Rights: The Scholar as Activist. what's particularly sad is that this was a book for a class... which had about 30 people in it. it's sad because i'm either the only one of those that is on LT or i'm the only one who bothered to keep the book, which was really very good.

Almost - we do seem to hang out in all corners of the forums looking waiting to pounce on unsuspecting singletons in people's libraries. *grin*

thanks Portia! i was sure some of those had matches. i try to combine when i can do it myself but sometimes it just gets away from me.

damn that other person with Human Rights for stealing my singleton... i mean, GREAT! someone else has that books too!

Ta Moko is actually an article from a scholarly journal, but i used it as a reference for an article i wrote a while back and needed to file it so i'd remember where i found it. it was a great article.

Ask an Indian About India may only exsist in my library, period. i bought it at a Library Sale and can barely find a reference to it anywhere on the net.

Not having the other book at hand I can't tell how different they are. I could easily see combining them if they had the same copyright, but they don't.

At this time I think they are different...but I am open to discussion. Not that I am racing to mark it ULTB.

For example are the following two books the same or different

Currently they show up as separate. I have each and well they are not word for word the same.*

Having each puts you in the best position. If you feel they are similar enough that two people at a cocktail party could discuss the contents, then they're probably one work. Word to word congriguity isn't required.

I went on BBBB in Paris the last week in Oct. I got at least one UBLT. It's an Andy Warhol book. I also search most everything on WorldCat and I'm one of 3 owners in the world. I picked the book up on a remainder book stall near the Pompediou Centre.

I hope you didn't pay $43.8 million for it. But check for hand made sketch I hear they go for a couple of million.
