I'm starting this today if anyone wants to read with me. I'll post comments when I have any and I invite anyone else to post any comments about this as well.
First short story: Invitation to Murder

I finished it. Fun little stories. I thought Archie's little sarcastic comments were in their prime.
The first, "Invitation to Murder," seemed so obvious to me this time, but then I've probably read it twice before and Archie's description of that wheelchair makes my mind whirl. I love the way Archie got Wolfe to come out of the house, but was afraid he would get fired for it, then the funny way Wolfe took his revenge, saying Archie had lost his head over the women and couldn't think straight. :)
Favorite Archie quote: The client has just stated that he has three mistresses in three different countries, and Archie says, " I gave him an eye and decided to believe nothing he said. He just wasn't built for it."
The Zero Clue So how many tumbled to the clue of the pencils the first time they read it? Did you stop to look it up? Did you know it was numbers?
This Won't Kill You I don't suppose the Giants players have any correlation to real life. He probably had to be careful to make sure they didn't. I am not familiar enough with baseball in the 50s to know whether or not this rings true.
I think the Beebright soda sounds tasty. Please, no phenobarbital.

MrsLee, I couldn't remember a single detail you wrote about, above. So, I think I'll pull my copy off the shelf and give it another read.

The quote reminded me how much fun the books are. I vow, between Spring and Summer sessions, I will re-read this or Trouble in Triplicate. The magazine length stories are some of my favorites.
