Since one of the motto's of Wikipedia is "be bold," I took that same advice with regard to WikiThing. I have copy and pasted the top-level categories into the wiki and done some basic formatting. This way someone can see the current set of top level categories with the scope notes without having to open the PDF.
I was also going to create a page for each of the categories I am active in that had a link to the relevant talk page and eventually, the current list of subcategories.
If any of these changes are unwelcome, just let me know and I will reverse them (or feel free to reverse them for me).

Rather, I will thank you! I was irritated by the presence of a PDF. It's much nicer to have the information be "in" the wiki itself.

Had to hunt it down - (I'm not very wiki-savvy)
-- but here is the link to the wiki page with sdd7's efforts:

Thank you!
PS - If someone were particularly ambitious: a link back from the wiki to the discussion thread for each of the Top Level categories might also generate more discussion (if that is a goal).

Is it possible to copy over the Economics page, using it as a template, and change the content for another category. Save people reinventing the wheel?

Anyone should be able to click on the "edit" button on the economics page and copy and paste what is there into whatever page they create. I think once people do that it will be pretty clear even to those who haven't used a wiki before how to add additional sections and such as appropriate.

If people would be interested, I could make pages for each category similar to the one I made for economics(http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/OSC/Economics ) or I could simply add a link to the talk pages in parens after the name of the upper level category. Neither would be that much work, but I only want to do it if people think it would be useful.
Personally, I think the separate pages could be useful but aren't likely to generate traffic here since I think the number of people who use the wiki is far smaller than the number of people in this group.
