Hi I'm really new to this whole blogging thing - I've got the HTML for the Random Books from my library widget but I have no idea where to paste that into the blogger code.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I'm at work so I can't double check step by step but from memory I think its this... From your Layout menu choose add a widget then select the HTML/Javascript widget and paste your random books code into the pop up window and save.

Perfect! That was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!

Well, I was piggybacking on DonnerLibrary's question... I had the exact same one... but it isn't working for me. I just keep getting a blank square thing I can type in on the side of my blog. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Are you using the HTML/Javascript widget? I emailed you the code to use and I tested it with your user name on my test page. It worked ok and I saw your books. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what the issue is.

24girl, thanks so much! I just started my blog and have been trying to figure out how to get the LT widget to work, and now it does!

It's still not working for me... I go to the "Add a Gadget" list of gadgets and search for "HTML/Javascript," which brings up several results, two of which are called that and look exactly the same. I've tried with both of them. I paste the code into the box and click save. It says "Changes Saved," but when I view the blog there's just an empty box that can be typed in, like the one on the Configure Gadget page. I've also tried it with the first layout I picked and the one I changed it to an hour later, but it did the same thing...

Instead of searching try scrolling down the page on basics. The HTML/Javascript I use is the 11th one down. The HTML/JavaScript seach brings up some other widget.

I piggybacked too, and this is perfect! Your October advice is still helping us newbies!

I'm posting the widget to my blog and it appears OK but I set the covers to refresh every 30 seconds and they never do. It's always the same ones. Any ideas?
