I recently joined a monthly book club at our Public Library. None of the eight members, nor the librarian, had ever seen a Kindle and they were astonished at the wide range of features!
What really stole the show was, when we were deciding on next month's selection, The Oracle Bones by Peter Hessler and I found it on Kindle and was able to read them the synopsis and several reviews.
The lady seated next to me can only read large print books, which makes it difficult for her to read some of the monthly selections, and she immediately wrote down all the information needed to order a Kindle, once she saw the changeable font sizes.
Kindle stole the show!

You know, I was displaying my Kindle last night to the book group I lead at our library. That group was also impressed. In particular, one woman (retired, a former nurse) there travels a great deal and I think I saw a particularly acquisitive glint in her eye. She was intrigued by it, for sure.

My father (88 years old) and I were sitting in a hospital waiting room today and to pass the time, I showed my father one of the books I am reading on my kindle. He took the kindle from me and read for about 45 minutes. A woman in the waiting room came over and asked about it. I gave a demonstration and she was very excited. I think she thought if my father could read it so could she.

I love to hear these kinds of reactions to our darling Kindles!
