Yay! We have a new feature now in the forums, thankfully.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to open a thread for everyone to list their blog.

I have a pretty typical "keep the family up to date" blog at http://varrqnuht.net - it has featured the LT random books widget since it came out, and is now proudly adorned with an LT search widget as well.

I've been meaning for about 18 months to launch a "professional" blog (i.e. representing me as a professional), but haven't got around to it. I'm just not a sufficiently prolific writer :)

Cinnamon-Girl, I really like your blog! I have never gotten very "professional" in mine- it's basically just like a book journal where I voice my thoughts on books. I don't even know how to bring in Amazon linking images (as I see a lot of people DO know how to do). But it works for me, anyway :-)

Hi. I run the tiny litblog Condalmo (http://condalmo.blogspot.com). In the past, I've wondered
on the site about the apparent lack of interest these days from the general
reading public in the short story form. Given the much-documented shorter
attention span of Americans today, as compared to pretty much any time in the
past, wouldn't it make sense that the short story form would be the ascendant
medium through which people read? Why are short story collections the
awkward little brothers of novels, both on the review pages and among
readers?

So, given my own lack of insight, I decided to pick some of the blogs I
read most often and write to you to get your thoughts on the matter. I'll
post them on my own site and hopefully get some discussion going around the
matter. Any time you could spare to write a bit on the issue would be
greatly appreciated, and of course I know time is hard to come by, so I thank
you in advance for any you can spare.

Hi There! I, too, have a blog! http://www.aspiringcto.com/ it's mostly technology-related stuff. I work here at LT, but the blog isn't *about* LT, although some of the entries correspond directly with some behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into keeping LibraryThing's servers running. Pretty dry stuff, mostly. BUT if you're curious as to what goes on in the mind of a sysadmin and programmer (me!), this may be a good place to look.
thanks!

My blog is bookheaven.blogspot.com and it's about the intersection of books and life .... sort of. My latest entry is entitled "A Motto To Live By" and it's a motto that all of us compulsive accumulators should probably read as we wake up every day. Books are mentioned in every entry. I have long since given up hope of trying to kick the book habit and if anything it's only gotten worse. I average 50-100 new acquisitions every single week and sometimes I feel like I'm doing little more than just moving them around in my book vaults.

"The Notable Books Council of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division American Library Association (ALA), compiles a list of books selected for their significant contribution to the expansion of knowledge and for the pleasure they can provide to adult readers."

What this means for me is that I will have the sheer joy of immersing myself in books for the next 2 years. I will read as many of the hundreds of titles of note (and perhaps a few not-so-great titles) and spend time twice a year in all day meetings to discuss, debate and defend our favorites. At the end of the year we will come away with 25 books that are the best of the best. This is my attempt to keep track of the year's reading and to let friends and readers see what gets considered and how I am progressing. Of course, there is no way for anyone to read everything on the list but I will do my best.

Lali, don't give up the fight. There are so many blogs out there that it is hard for new blogs to attract many readers at the beginning. The secret, I think, is networking yourself and your blog to folks who share an interest in the topics that you cover. It definitely takes time, but in the meantime, you are establishing a record of your reading and thoughts that you will appreciate looking back on at some later date. As long as you're having fun with the blog, it's well worth the effort.

I shut down my previous blog because, being of a political nature, it attracted a bunch of people who just wanted to scream at me for being "wrong." It stopped being fun so I moved on...

Edit: BTW, go back to your profile and put your blog's url into the "homepage" box. That would make it readily available to people who take a look at your profile.

I have 12 blogs, I might post them all here later but for now Star Log is the one I post on the most, it's my personal blog, where I talk about anything that intersts me, but 9 times out of 10 that means I'm giving advice to new writers, how-to write, why to write, how I write, why I write, you know the drill... here it is (not sure what type of html groups use, so this code may or may not be clickable. I'll repost if it doesn't show

HEY! I didn't know I could edit my posts... was just reading the responces and found that some of you were editing your posts, so I had to check and see if I could.

Now that I have read the posts I see that when I made my links I did it right, I made a teeny mistake on not adding the " ". so I'll try ONE MORE TIME!

Bastard of Art and Commerce is observations of an idiosyncratic, foolish nature made by an overweight copywriter living in Berkeley, California. Expect swearing. Not for the easily confused or the literal. It's sad, really.

I'm a newbie on LibraryThing, but have been blogging about books for The Baltimore Sun since May 2008. I started the blog -- www.baltimoresun.com/readstreet -- because the Sun was reducing its print coverage of books, and I wanted to create an online alternative. Every day we post general news and opinion about books, with a special focus on Baltimore's literary scene. If you're in the area, there's a monthly calendar of readings and other events.

I thought I'd posted here, but I guess not :) My blog is fairly new, but updated nearly daily, and I'd love to have some new faces join in with the awesome regular readers I've got so far.

My reviews are currently short and sweet, and posted all in a single weekly roundup (Wednesdays) until I determine a format that suits me and my reading habits.

Mostly I'm just getting into the swing of writing regularly again and unearthing my "voice" in light, fun posts with lots of opportunities to engage with others. Looking forward to seeing where things go from there!

I have started a new blog at allpurposeguru.blogspot.com

It's "all-purpose" because I want to try out a bunch of things. I will offer thoughts on music, Bible study, and cooking.

One thing that I really want to do, though, is establish a dialog about libraries. I see lots of blogs where librarians talk to each other. I see lots of blogs where librarians post information for patrons of their particular library. I haven't seen anything where a librarian talks to non-librarians about how to get best use out of the library.

There is one post there that explains what I'm up to better than I can do it here. Please come by and comment.

I started keeping my library in LT and my blog, both in November of 2007. The previous summer I took a free online "course" offered by CSLA called Library 2.0 and have stayed with these two applications ever since. I am a Library Tech in a high school and I read posts when I have a little free time. I have no idea if anyone reads my blog but I get enjoyment out of keeping it up. I post reviews of YA and adult books I read along with movies, series, web sites, or whatever I think may someday help someone else.

My journal is still looking for the form it wants to take, but I have been writing about literature (fiction), philosophy (Niccolò Machiavelli in particular) and sometimes about technology. Although I suspect that it is better for me to focus on literature and fiction.

My blog is at http://cjbanning.dreamwidth.org.

It mostly focuses on abstract theological issues, especially ecclesiology and soteriology, from the general perspective of a religious liberal, although there are a number of sermons there as well, both preached and unpreached, and even (believe it or not) a series of posts applying a queer theoretic lens to the movie The NeverEnding Story and its sequels. Also book reviews and relevant responses to posts of other people on the internet.

These are all things I'm saying in my own voice, with people I know offline reading in (I attend two churches, one Episcopal--which is my home denomination--and one quasi-emergent Anabaptist), so the focus is going to be fairly academic. (I have a pseudonym which I use for less lofty online pursuits.)

Mine is dusty, dormant, dare I say dead? Well what better time to revive it (and read some Children's/YA lit) than Easter/Spring Break?

Some reading friends and I also do quick reviews, come comment/join/suggest a good book:

So many great blogs - I'm still making my way through the thread.....

I blog here: http://freeagenteconomics.com.

Mostly on self-employment and personal finance, but, being a bookish person, I tend to have a lot of book-related posts - mostly non-fiction but I'm also starting to add non-fiction. In particular, I have a monthly online book club there as well (a handful of my newsletter subscribers tend to read along).

OK, I said big news was coming today and here it is! In cooperation with Random House, Crown Publishers and Broadway Paperbacks, I have 3 copies of THE TRUTH OF ALL THINGS by Keiran Shields to give away. This will be a random drawing. You have one week, through midnight on Friday, May 3rd, to enter. To enter this giveaway contest, you must: 1) be a follower of TexasBookLover (I offer several ways to do this on the home page of the blog); 2) you must leave a comment on this contest post or on the review post; and 3) shoot me an email letting me know you have done this so I can confirm.

I posted a review for The Truth of All Things on April 19th and gave it a 5 of 5 rating. It is the best book I have read this year so far. Remember, the deadline is midnight, Friday, May 3rd. Please do not hesitate to send me an email with any questions. The contest is open to everyone, not just the US. I will announce the winners on Monday, May 6th. Good luck everybody!

Is it ok to post here about looking for guest writers for your blog? If not, I promise to delete this - please just let me know.

Storyacious is about celebrating the art and skills of storytelling across diverse media and genres. I'm looking for guest posts or regular writers (published elsewhere is ok). Please see this page for more information. Thank you.

PS While I am unable to offer compensation at this point, there are plans to do so in the near future if certain things pan out as aspired.

Nerdophiles.com features tons of book reviews - among other things! We're a blog that focuses on "all things nerdy, geeky, or otherwise awesome" which includes books, movies, TV shows, games, and really anything else we think it worth featuring. We are extremely liberal on what counts as 'on topic' for our blog so take a look around. You're bound to find something worth your while!

We're also hiring if you're interested...

Grazie e buona giornata a tutti. :)

I have two blogs and a tumblr:

Modern Monkey Mind: http://modernmonkeymind.wordpress.com/
Is about minimalism and simple living

the Shelf of Wonders: http://shelfofwonders.wordpress.com/
My book/movie review blog. Only one entry up there at the moment, and its a year or more old. My big new years resolution was to get back to blogging, so there should be more at both blogs over the coming months.

My tumblog: http://modernmonkeymiscellany.tumblr.com/
Is minimalism and spirituality focused primarily. A lot of it is reblogs, but I also post quotes I've found, and write a short one or two paragraph post every day. These are mostly musings about random stuff, not necessarily related to minimalism or spirituality.

Hi, I am new to Library Thing and new to blogging. I teach 7th grade reading and wanted a way to keep track of all the books I read for school as well as my personal books. I would like to improve my writing about books just like I am teaching my students to do, so I decided to create my own blog. It isn't much right now, but I will slowly be adding to it.

I would really like it if you could visit the blog, give me any advice you might have, even post a comment if you would like. I am learning as I go, but I am having fun with it.
