The CD re-release of some of the EPs that came out in Britain is full of excellent stuff with a nice sound.

My great memory of Bo Diddley is seeing him at Tipitina's in New Orleans, way back in the mid-80s. During the break, he came off the stage and made his way toward the bar. I approached him saying, "Hey, Bo, I would love to shake your hand." He looked at me and laughed and said, "Well, I'll be happy to shake your hand, but you have something more important to do first!" I looked around and my girlfriend had come up behind me with a couple of beers. So I grabbed a beer with one hand and then shook Bo Diddley's hand with the other!
A great performer who will be missed.

I wish I'd coughed up the cash for the GMU performance a year or so back. I did see him in the 80s, at the (smelly) old 9:30 Club - not a very long show, but high energy. Along with Chuck Berry and Link Wray - he laid the foundations of rock and roll, as far as I'm concerned.
