Jane Eyre LEC

I'm a new LEC collector and have been obsessively trying to find an LEC edition of Jane Eyre but it seems like there is none--perhaps someone can confirm this. I'm not a fan of the Heritage Press binding and illustrations and might choose a nicer Franklin Library (Greatest Books). Would love suggestions if anyone has them! Thanks

>1 Iggybedora: Correct. The LEC did not do Jane Eyre, nor any other Brontë title.

But, you can get all 7 of the Brontë novels published by Folio Society at a very reasonable price at ABE, or just Jane Eyre alone.

And there's this one from Enitharmon Editions, but that's probably more than you have budgeted for.

And on stage in the theater of the absurd, we have a Dell paperback for only $666.87 here.

Oh, and Random House did a nice 2-volume slipcased edition with illustrations by Fritz Eichenberg. Not fine press, but still worth owning.

>1 Iggybedora: Wuthering Heights did get a LEC in the Shiff era with Balthus' illustrations...but it's expensive and pretty rare. However, there's copies for sale by the current LEC on their site: http://limitededitionsclub.com/wuthering-heights/

The Heritage Press did issue exclusive editions of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights with Barnett Freedman's artistic handiwork, which are pretty nice, but that's it for anything from the George Macy Company. Someday I will find nice copies of both so I can cover them on my blog...

>2 Glacierman: thanks for this! I just got a nice copy of the Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights Eichenberg illustrated set. It says it's letterpress actually so perhaps it's better quality than what Random House makes today

>3 WildcatJF: Right. I forgot about that one, probably because I tend to ignore that period of the LEC. And there's something about those illustrations that just flat out turn me off.
