Ongoing struggle to put Johnstone books in an order we can all agree on

So like many libraries we have a ton of William W. Johnstone books and it's a constant battle to shelve them in an order we can all agree upon. Some people go by Series title because its predominantly on the spine, others just go by the title and therefore the series is scattered throughout the section. Is there a way that your library does it that makes sense? Or is this just a lost cause?

Do you mean William W. Johnstone?

Quite honestly, even if you decide on an 'official' order, will the books stay is that order?

Yes, that's him. I mean, staying in order will get messed up by patrons at some point. But staff is assigned to shelf reading and every time we get to that section it's a toss-up on how the last person reading that section, felt it should be in order. At least officially all staff will be shelving the same way.

As a reader of series, series order is preferable, please.

We've added a spine label, about half of an address label in size length wise, that has the series name & number so that those are shelved in series order. If the label goes on after the book is covered we use scraps of paperback cover material to cover the label. Our patrons like the labels.
