I read this series set in medieval times in 2020 but published much earlier. The main character, called Bothevar I believe, (with a facial scar), has a brother and they capture two sisters but release the younger one. The sister that remains is timid and the Lord pretends not to understand her language and uses his young brother as interpreter. The Lords sister was captured by the girls' family and their brother brought her back only to be surprised that his sister was there.
The former lover of the Lord arranged to have his now pregnant wife and sister captured and taken to her family where she was thrown into the dungeon by her father. Her brother nearly drew a sword on his father but their mother stopped him. Eventually she is snuck out of the castle and a dead girl left in her place.
She is unwell but they meet the Lord and after a while he carries his army to fight her father. While at war, she has his son. This honourable brother falls in love with the Lords sister and his youngest sister falls in love with the Lords brother.
