I emailed when this went on a facebook post, no reply! Looks like a nice book, does anyone have an idea of the price? They were offering 25% off.

$190 plus shipping. And 25% off that.

Thank you for sharing. I sent a note to the press but maybe someone else can clarify in the meantime. I don't see any way to order this on the website. Is this a new publication or was it published in May, 2005?

I'm really happy to see this posted about -- I've been meaning to post about it for some time, as I had a chance to meet Chad and Beth some months ago; they've been so kindly encouraging of my own budding interest in printing. The Decorations is beautiful; hand set in Joanna and printed on dampened Johannot, striking engravings by Ladislav Hanka, signed by both Campbell and Hanka. Beautifully printed, as are all of the books I had the pleasure of perusing from their Sutton Hoo Press. And yes, the Campbell was published in 2005, and I'd highly recommend it especially at such a discount!

>7 Glacierman: Thanks for the post! I can't access the link because I'm not (and won't be) on that platform, so I'll try emailing the printer.

I wrote to the press directly and they extended me the same deal on the book. They are also going to send a sample of one of the Quires they are working on. Very nice folks.

Received the book and the quire, quite pleased with both. Here are some mediocre photos of these lovely works.

Nice! I am especially enamored of the type chosen: Joanna. An Eric Gill design, and one of my absolute favorites, especially the Italic. And on Johannot paper. The fact that my wife's name is Johanna has nothing to do with it. *wink*

>11 Glacierman: Agreed, it's very pleasing. And this is also technically my first Sutton Hoo Press acquisition. If this is emblematic of their work, I'll have to hunt down more. (The forthcoming quires are being done by them, so that's going on reserve list as soon as they goes public.)

Hey All, I just joined this site today. Thanks for the kind words about the Campbell book, and for giving it some press. I'm glad also that you mentioned my new endeavor, Quire: A literary Tract from The Last Press. I had not printed anything for several years and finally set my press back up in my "new" house (been here 7 years!). I envisioned printing healthy selections of new unpublished material by single authors in a serialized format. I came up with the idea of printing 8-page accordion folds. I have just finished no.12, poems by Christine Kitano. She is heavily narrative, a young poet, though already accomplished.

So I am 'live' with the series, albeit as a 'soft' launch. I hope to average at least one per month. They are $10 for standing orders, the first 12 can be had for $100 and free shipping for pre-paid orders.

Just started working on a posthumous, unpublished story by the British ghost story writer Ron Weighell. His issue will be number 13 for January 2023.

So happy to be printing again!

Unpublished, or 'forgotten', thus the reprint of the Wilkins-Freeman story which had never been collected. . . . .

>13 SuttonHooPress: Count me in for the Quire project, I'll send you an email. Also a couple of outstanding works in your catalogue I'm interested in.
