Fiction book, had a bright blue cover and was a hardback.
I read this back in 2012 when I was in school and I still cannot find the book so apologies if my memory is not great.
I remember the main characters being a girl and a boy of similar age.
I think the girl lived in a palace or a very large home somewhere in Asia. I remember feeling like it had vibes similar to India.
The girl wore a sari and I believe she either ran away from her father or had a disagreement.
The girl ran away with the boy.
I remember at one point they visited a place where they slaughtered sheep? And it explained what made the meat halal.
I remember that the girl was shot in the stomach and believe she was wearing a green sari at the time.
I read this in English class so I think it will probably be educational in some sense?
The size of the book was similar to the size of Enid Blyton hardback books but the text was a lot smaller (similar to classics)
