Terms and conditions state no limited editions, but it looks like it's otherwise by title and there's nothing excluding multi-volume sets.

• Only one copy per title of books available at time of winner being announced.
• To claim the prize, the winner must follow the instructions in the email or DM and select their books before 01 Nov, 2022.
So, winner selects 75 single copies from available stock. Also, can we assume shipping is covered by FS?
ETA:
Cost of books plus shipping covered by FS (email confirmation).

According to the terms and conditions: 'The winner is responsible for paying taxes and duties (if any) due on the prize.' That would suggest folio cover the p&p.
Entering one's date of birth seems unnecessarily faffy - rather than simply typing it in, one has to click through the calendar to find one's year of birth. If, like me, you're getting to be an old git, that's a lot of clicking (unless you just lie about it!).
Good luck to anyone else who has entered :-)

Perhaps to confirm another pre-condition: 'Entrants must be 18 years or over to enter'.
BTW, I counted 4 major clicks:
- 1st click in the DOB field opens a pop-up calendar.
- 2nd click on the year.
- 3rd click on the month.
- 4th click on the date/ day.
Typing in one's DOB would require at least 9 clicks - 8 on the keyboard :)

Interesting since they're also running this same contest on Instagram where you need to follow their account, like the post and tag two other people on Instagram. Sounds like there's just one prize, so would that be two chances to win the draw entering both ways? Are there even more places to enter a draw, like Facebook (don't use it myself)?

If they charge tax on the books, that would get rather expensive. There shouldn't really be any on something you've won, but who knows with Germany, for example.
10woodstock8786
>9 SF-72: at least there is only 7% tax and no customs fees on books in Germany 😜 I am always amazed about it, that they don’t charge you more
12SF-72
>10 woodstock8786:
They're not supposed to charge you for something you haven't paid anything for, but I've been taxed for a gift under the customs threshold as well as a free replacement for a damaged book, so who knows. It all too often depends on who does the taxing, and DHL are particularly rabid about it.

You are right, if you haven’t paid for anything then it cannot be taxed actually.
I would absolutely advise to register as „Selbstverzoller“, if you haven’t already! I have done so several months ago, DHL charges way too much for „handling“ or whatever they want to call it. I ordered tea in the UK and the shipper already deducted the 7% VAT but DHL suddenly wanted some 15€ handling charge.
Just because I was a „Selbstverzoller“ I got it back.
Of course that means that it might happen that you have to go to the Customs office to pick up your package, depends on how long the distance is, if it is too far away, it might not be practical. But at least you can then discuss with the people there, although they often pretty much embody the stereotype of a German „Beamter“ 😜
Sorry in advance if I am telling you nothing new here 😅

>7 mr.philistine: Purely pedantic, but it took me 7 clicks to enter my birthdate. Field, click year, scroll year, click on year, click month, click on month, click on day. But I didn't find it onerous. ^_^
I assume my entry went through, there was no success message or (as yet) confirmation email about my entry. I suspect the winner will likely be drawn from social media entrants, that appears to be the dragon they're chasing these days.

That is good advice, so thank you. But yes, I became a Selbstverzoller after two incidents, one with the taxed gift from a friend I mentioned, the other when DHL opened a package and damaged the book inside, which was a sold out limited edition and couldn't be replaced. They still taxed two packages (illegally!) afterwards and never refunded their fees despite promising the would on the phone. But more recently, my packages were always guided to a customs station in a nearby town. It has saved me a lot of fees and hassle, especially when the tax has already been paid and DHL clearly would have taxed me a second time, while customs itself didn't. Unfortunately, DHL Express don't fall under the Selbstverzoller rule and they taxed me 19% for a book (as in a novel) by re-declaring it as a notebook. I'm always grateful when sellers use any courier service other than them.
And as you say, it depends on who you're talking to, but at least with actual customs it's people, not an automated system where it's 'pay or we'll return / destroy your package'.

Asking for a friend (I entered through the ROW link): Is there a link to the UK website for this, too, or can people from the UK only enter through Social Media? If so, is it on Twitter or Facebook (my friend is on those, not Instagram).

Well, at least I found out that I was born on a Wednesday, which I did not know - and simultaneously realised that this is how Wednesday Addams got her name ('full of woe').

You may want to check with your mother that you weren't born in immediately dark surroundings, such as during a blackout at the hospital. Otherwise you may have been swapped with another infant.

Many years ago I learnt Lewis Carroll's method of mental gymnastics for working out the day of the week for any date and astonished both my friends. It was very effective but the Internet has rendered it obsolete (like so much else).

I think they missed a trick here. It should have been one of those old school 'fifteen words or less' jobs.

Did they ever state which 75 books were specifically being given? It would be fantastic of them to customize the set to the winner's existing library. Assuming it was a predefined set, it would be interesting to some of us to see the split between new and duplicate titles, had any of us won.
