Foolscap Press: Other Worlds: Journey to the Moon

I was just wondering about this title by Foolscap and impressions from others who purchased this book. I own most of their books and have never been disappointed, suspecting the same would apply to this volume, but I was unable to find a prior post on the book.

>1 Joshbooks1:

Probably because it's so expensive. I'm sure it's great though.

>1 Joshbooks1: It is a stunning book, and another massive achievement by the press - I think it is just a little less impressive on first glance than Mandeville, which makes some balk at the cost.

As with most Foolscap publications, the pictures on their website don't begin to do it justice. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I have any to share! But it is most comparable to Brief Loves in terms of binding and simple elegance, but has some nice more whimsical touches like the split die-cut cover with the moon illustrations, and of course the pages that open down the center.

>3 NathanOv: Thanks so much for your help! It's on my next big purchase along with a few other Foolscap publications. Also, they are the loveliest people to talk with via email. Barbarian Press is the same. Just genuinely kind and extremely talented individuals.

>4 Joshbooks1: I had the opportunity to sit down for a conversation with Larry and Peggy a few years ago — they're an absolute delight

>4 Joshbooks1: I haven't had the opportunity to chat with the Foolscap folks, but I've exchanged many emails with Jan and Crispin and agreed they're lovely to interact with. They make you feel like an old friend of theirs that they hand wrote a letter to and sent it via snail mail. I think in this age of text messaging the art of good correspondence is being lost. Having said that, I think I see some people on my lawn I need to go yell at.
