Husband wants the candy corn 🤢. I'll take some smarties if you have any! M&MS are always good, too. 😁

>2 Hope_H: >3 genesisdiem: Just take whatever you want. Absolutely not a calorie in sight:)

<5 They're all yours. Enjoy! I believe this is the most popular picture I have ever posted:)

Candy corn and anything chocolate. Fortunately, we are on a short block and don't get many trick or treaters but I have to stock up just in case!!
8Carol420
>7 JulieLill: You can have the candy corn, but you are going to have to share the chocolate:)

Sorry to see that author, Peter Robinson, has died. He was 72. From The Guardian, 10/07/2022: "Peter Robinson, creator of the Inspector Banks novels, dies aged 72. Robinson was best known for his novels featuring Inspector Banks, the first of which was published 35 years ago. The books were adapted into the TV drama series DCI Banks which ran between 2010 and 2016, and starred Stephen Tompkinson in the titular role.". Another good one gone.

Well, since no one's called for it, and the Snickers bars are already taken, I'll take the Twix.

Has anyone decorated yet for Halloween??

>11 threadnsong: the spiders have been decorating my porch for me. Does that count? 😉 🕸️
13threadnsong
>12 genesisdiem: Yes, yes it does! Aren't their webs amazing?
And to think, I bought one this afternoon at Wal-Green's and spent real $$ on it, when I could have maybe had a few for free ;)

>13 threadnsong: I wouldn't mind the webs as long as the spiders left immediately when finished. For 28 years I work with all species of animals...including the human ones, but spiders are the ONLY animal that I am simply terrified of. Maybe I should also consider being a bit more leery of the human ones:)

>11 threadnsong: We have got a bunch of pumpkins on our porch and our fall wreath is up!
16threadnsong
>14 Carol420: Oh, poor Carol! Thank you for your service to our animal friends, however many legs they might have ;)
>15 JulieLill: Yay! Are they painted or carved pumpkins?

>16 threadnsong: Thank you. I loved my job and never dreaded a single day of going to work. Everyone should be so lucky. My mother-in-law used to say that if there was anything to reincarnation, she wanted to come back as our dog or cat.

>16 threadnsong: We have a bunch of ceramic and plastic pumpkins. Now that the kids have left - we have given up on carving pumpkins.
19threadnsong
>18 JulieLill: I saw some ceramic pumpkins in the store that were quite beautiful. I worried that they'd fall and break on our front porch. DH found one from his favorite pumpkin patch so carving will ensure.
>17 Carol420: There is someone in our neighborhood who collected used pumpkins post-Halloween to be used as treats for wild animals. She worked or volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary, and I was happy to help :)

>19 threadnsong: Good for you and good for your friend for volunteering her time. We used to save pumpkins and watermelons for some of our exhibit animals. Some of them didn't want to eat them particularly but wanted to bat them around and roll in the guts. The visitors loved to watch them. The cheetahs and the baby tiger that we raised were big fans of "pumpkin hockey".
21threadnsong
>20 Carol420: OMG "pumpkin hockey!" That must have been hilarious. I guess all sentient beings have a need for fun and enjoyment. And trying out their hunting skills.
