What I think is happened is that I've been too lenient allowing these general chat threads.
It's not only the calls for violence (100% unacceptable!) and the disrespect (with thoughtless posts) that have been problems. The creation of the threads was a problem in its own.
Here's why. The LT team, which is the small group of people including the owner who's running this site, wants all groups to follow the site rules. That means no off-topic threads created. That means this thread should include (polite!) talk about anime, manga, or related things. So should the Morse code chats and every other thread created in the Manga and Anime Addicts group.
Doesn't sound fair? Please remember that this site was not designed as a general teen hangout. It's being repurposed by some members in this group as one, and that's not fair to the LT team or any regular members who maintain this book site for what it's meant to be. (It isn't fair to me. But I was willing to accept that if it helped people in need. I'm now questioning how my lax attitude might have caused harm.)
Anyway, I've been reminded that site members who do not follow the TOS may be suspended. Some members of this group might already have received warnings privately.
What's expected of you as a LibraryThing member:
• Discuss the topic of whatever (Talk-based) group you're in.
• Use only one account per person for Talk or Messages if you're not cataloging books.
• Remember kindness.

I would have liked to have known beforehand about the sibling relationships, though. The sexualization there shouldn't have surprised me, as that's common both in vampire fantasy and anything to do with royal families (not only in fiction). But somehow it surprised me. and yes. Unfortanately lb is blocked for me, but I found a way to bypass it! if you have IPEVO Whiteboard you are allowed to open webpages, and what you do is either use google.com or go straight to the site. You cannot open multiple tabs at once tho. just one

Hey everyone I have been going through a rough few days because of hurricane Ian and am considering quitting librarything. The only thing that I used this site for is to talk to friends in school and it’s blocked now. I need to better myself and being online all the time is not helping I will still keep my account but will probably not be active much.

tbh me too i think its distracting me a lot and i need to focus at school. i wont leave forever but i wont be on here most likely a lot. a lot of stuff is happening and u all made my day but no one is here anymore so ill have tostart focusing on myself/grades/sports better. but pls if anybody is still on here feel free to talk. especially the people on the sidelines. weve made a lot of friends talking here. btw ill be here sumtimes when i am getting better too :)

Hey guys. sorry I haven’t been on for a while. I’m in the hospital rn bc my sister has RSV (Respiratory System Virus) and apparently if the person has that virus, then the other person can get pneumonia….and I sadly have pneumonia and I’m not doing well so I’ll still be on this site I just might not be on it that much but if I start to feel better then I’ll be back. but for now I need to focus of my health rn so yea. I will still talk on here tho. I’m not leaving

I'm not sure, most people on here might not even be able to join due to having restrictions, hence why they're on the thread(most not all though). Last time I tried it the person who helped me just gave up because no one was joining the discord and we were sending the link as well
