Are there any books you've read and would highly recommend, Cyrel (or anyone else)?

>2 kidzdoc: Hmm- I like Rawi Hage -this is a book of short stories. He is speaking at the Toronto International Festival of Authors at the end of Sept -beginning of Oct. I might go to listen to him. There are a lot of new authors on this list. I will look at the descriptions on the Giller website and take a chance on selecting one or two to read.

I enjoyed that book, but I am surprised by the choice. I have read Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century (okay), Stray Dogs (really enjoyed), The Sleeping Car Porter (interesting story) and I am halfway through We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies (loving it so far). If I had to pick the winner, I would have gone with Hage.

Overall, we've had quite a diverse list this year. Very enjoyable!
