Folio Society Payment Plan?

Does Folio Society offer a payment plan if ordering over the phone? I heard they did in the past but was not sure if it was still available. I am hoping to purchase the Gormenghast LE but $1300 all up front might be a bit too much for me.

No longer, I'm afraid. It stopped a few years back. At one time you had a choice of four or ten instalments, depending on the value of the order. I switched to PayPal Credit when the Folio plans ceased.

I often use Paypal's Pay-in-3 to spread the cost a bit.

>3 Xandian97: They do charge a certain amount of interest I guess? Or is it without interest?

It seems to depend. In Germany, it was offered free for a while to introduce it, now they charge interest. But when I recently bought something from the UK, I was shown an offer of Paypal credit that was free of interest. I have no clue what this was based on, but suspect it might be about different rules for different countries.

I've been using PayPal Credit and PayPal Pay-in-3 since they began and they have always been interest-free. I wouldn't use them otherwise. I'm in the UK.

>5 SF-72: I am also in Germany, I think I once clicked on a 3-month payment and looked at it and the interest rate was pretty high (over 10%), but it might be I am wrong.
I will take a look at the next possibility

That's exactly what I saw, which is why I didn't even consider using it. I was surprised when I was offered a free option in a UK shop a while later.

A little further back it wasn't available at all for Germans. A US seller had advertised it and had it on their website, but when I tried to use it I was told it wasn't available in my country. I guess in that context everyone will have to check the conditions in their own country. The nice thing about the offer by FS was that it was available everywhere and interest-free. It certainly seduced me into buying several limited editions I would otherwise not have bought at the time. Thank goodness, considering Brexit as well as the development of prices and shipping rates.

>8 SF-72: I believe part of the issue was too many patrons would pass away before completing payment? And maybe at some point they also realized they simply no longer needed it in order to sell their books.

I understand that they stopped this, probably for the reasons you mentioned. Speaking for myself, it definitely helped lower my inhibitions in the early days and made me buy more.
