Awww, what a cute puppy! In our news, we finally decided we've had enough of our old mattress so spent the weekend trying out new ones. There are a lot and I felt welcomed by the sales staffs of different places we visited.
And then there was a Crate & Barrel nearby, and DH was up to looking at kitchen stuff, so we went and spent more money.
A big thank you to the kind people who helped me/us make decisions, even though in a sane world you would not have to work on a national holiday.
And . . . the fireworks have started! I should be able to see some from my front porch. Love that part of older Atlanta homes!

I clicked around LT this evening (as you do) and on my Home page was the List of the Month: Animal Fiction.
I had no idea how hard it would be for me to narrow down this amazing list to *only* 10 books. Choosing between Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and Aesop's Fables and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe not to mention Ferdinand (always a favorite of my dad's and of course mine) and The Book of Merlyn was an exercise in aghastness.
Suffice it to say, both of Richard Adams' books made it on, along with Bambi and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. But it was a tough call.
Has anyone else gone to this month's list?

>6 threadnsong: I hadn't noticed it, but I think I need to go check it out... and decide what to add myself (if what I want hasn't already been added!). Thank you!

Lynda:
Yesterday was Lynda & Mr. Lynda's anniversary. Sorry, Lynda. First, I was a month early and now I'm a day late. Guess that's what happens when the gray cells decide to take a vacation. Anyway...I hope you had a very special day. I'll try to do better next year.

>8 Carol420: And also from me best wishes for a belated anniversary!
>7 LibraryCin: I'm so glad you had a chance to participate in the challenge. You have such amazing and varied taste in books. I'll have to check out A Cat Named Bob especially after seeing it on your list.

Okay...do any of you live in Illinois? Did one of you happen to win the one-billion-dollar lotto jackpot last night? If you did, do you need any help storing it or spending it? I'm willing and available:)

>12 Carol420: Sadly it was not me. My ticket didn't even win one of the $$$ prizes. ☹️ Maybe next time. Think of all of the books I could by!

>13 genesisdiem: Oh... I was thinking of exactly that. We could buy the entire store contents plus the building itself and the parking lot.... I wonder what you would really do with a billion dollars. I'm not sure you could live long enough to actually deplete it.... but I might like to give it a try:)

>14 Carol420: If it ever did happen, maybe I could be a little like Carnegie and perk up some libraries. :)

>15 genesisdiem: Wouldn't it be great if you could make the library carry all your favorite books and the books that you want to read? Like that idea:)

>14 Carol420: >15 genesisdiem: Mmmmm, yes, having a billion dollars to put towards library, and literary programs, and maybe even start a publishing house? (Just finished reading The Vixen so the publishing world is in the foremost of my brain right now!)

>17 threadnsong: You can be the director of our publishing house. I'm going to be the proofreader:)
