Hello, all!
I'm trying to remember the name of a book I read when I was younger.
Things I remember about the book: I THINK it took place in the Caribbean, the man owned a plantation (maybe a sugar plantation?) and it was like an arranged marriage thing.
There are two scenes I remember. The male character was in a sexual relationship with a woman who wasn't his wife, and she used some kind of a flower to bind them together during sex....
And the other scene I remember is there was a ceremony the young bride had to go through before the wedding and the islander woman plucked all the hair from her body until she was hairless, except for the hair on her head.
I literally cannot remember anything else about this book. >.
