LibraryThing wiki for people interested in Australian writers

A space has been set up within LibraryThing's Wiki domain (think Wikipedia but humbler...) for descriptions of Australian books, writers and literary resources. Mostly this was to answer the call from overseas LibraryThingers for information about the Australian literary scene, but some of it might be new - and useful - to local LibraryThingers.

The Australian LibraryThinger's Wiki includes a featured Australian author, book, review site, organisation, award, festival, and literary place and theme. The entries are descriptive rather than critical - although it's useful in the case of author profiles to point out those works where a new reader might start, and those works sometimes best avoided altogether.

The intention is to refresh the entries each week or so, and move the old entries into an archive which over time may become a considerable information resource. The 'turnover rate' really depends on how much time we have to create fresh content. I say 'we' because anyone in LibraryThing can create content within this Wiki. If you need any help with that, just add a comment in this thread. You can also post material here for uploading (by me or others) if that's easier for you.

Have a browse. Hopefully you'll see all the places where we could add extra links and features (I have skipped poetry for the moment...). Jimmy Wales who founded Wikipedia said the key to it's success in the early days was how wrong it was, so much so that infuriated readers were impelled to go in and fix it. That's not the approach here - well not the intention in any case - but don't hesitate to criticise, comment or dive in yourself. All input is equally welcome.
