Apparently already sold out. I went to the site minutes after receiving the email and only the prospectus is available. Swift on Swift went swiftly.

>2 Esoterics: Was it even availailable at all? I think the commitment to a possible April's fools joke could be limited to the prospectus.

I'm still not entirely sure myself whether the prospectus is also part of the joke despite being able to be carted. I'm certainly interested in the novelty.

>3 c_schelle: I just came to the realization that this may be what’s really going on. The prices are all 4/1 too... I was genuinely fooled. Although, I would’ve wanted a copy just because it’s so out of the ordinary and eccentric.

I don’t think the full edition was real :) I clicked on the link the second I got the email and it was sold out already.
Don’t know about the prospectus.

>5 Esoterics: I completely fell for it as well. I do hope the prospectus is real, I’d like to commemorate my ‘foolishness’

I liked to joke and ordered the prospectus. Since the order went through I think at least the prospectus is real.

I realized part way through reading the announcement that it must be an April Fool joke. But I wouldn’t have put it past NRP to follow through with actually printing the edition, so I clicked through to the order page. The price for the (putative) book was $410, which would be, if genuine, too spendy for me to indulge my appreciation of the jest. I content myself with the (presumably) orphan prospectus for this very clever bit of tomfoolery.
Well played!

By the way, this reminds me a bit of a piece that the Grabhorn Press printed for the Roxburghe Club, with an essay reading Thayer's "Casey at the Bat" as a satire on Macaulay's "Horatius at the Bridge"....

My daughter has been attempting to make a Swiftie of her literature teacher, and this will leave him no choice.

Well played. For about 30 seconds, I thought Griffin had taken leave of his senses.

Very clever, and I may get the prospectus just because. It seems in line with some of things Foolscap does this time of year.

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I like to imagine the printers we're twerking as they printed the prospectus.

I've been thinking about the Foolscap ephemera. What's your opinion?

>15 MobyRichard: I haven't purchased any yet, but I'm sorely tempted by a few of them. The completist in me wants to splash out on the box with every title in it, but I'm probably going to reign myself in and limit myself to four or so at first. I think at minimum I have to have the ones on Three Men In A Boat and illuminated manuscript giant snails.

>15 MobyRichard: I have a few of them, they’re all great. My favorite may be Sancho Panza’s letter.
18Shadekeep
>15 MobyRichard: I gave in and ordered four in the spirit of the day. Already got a reply that they'll be shipping them out, very nice.
I went for the NRP prospectus too. Too good a joke to miss.

I love it! I ordered the prospectus to commemorate the gag and also because I have a friend who is a major Taylor Swift fan that I want to share it with. Having a punning mind myself, I can think of many twists on what Griffin has started here...

Actually Foolscap just sent me some of their Ephemera. 'Environmental Awareness Magazine'
I assume the article 'Do Worms Cry or Just Pine for Rain?' will be a good read.

No clue what No Reply is thinking. Taylor Swift, seriously?

No, your first assumption was correct. We've just deluded ourselves. The real lyrics are:
"I'm just gonna bake, bake, bake, bake, bake...bake them soft, bake them soft."

>15 MobyRichard: Received the Foolscap April Fools ephemera I ordered, read a couple of them last night. Good stuff and nicely made. The one on Three Men In A Boat was good and refers back to the book in clever ways. I am especially pleased with the one on giant snails in illuminated manuscripts, it's well-written and has some great in-jokes for fans of manuscripts and medieval attitudes. It is very attractively made, with a colored capital and inset illustrations.

Just receive my copy of the "Swift on Swift" prospectus. Beautifully printed, and still amusing to both me and my teenage daughter.
Shelved it next to Officina Athelstane's "A Modest Proposal".

I thought when I paid $40 for a "prospectus" that I was throwing real money after a joke, but to my surprise, it arrived today! Does this mean that the "Swift on Swift" edition is real after all? This is either an excellent April Fool's or a case of terrible timing.
