LEC - A Raw Youth. Warped boards for all?

I have 2 copies of this 2 volume set. Both of my sets appear to have slightly warped boards. It seems the severity of the warped boards is exactly the same in both books of both sets. It's not bad but it is there. Because it is present in both sets, I'm wondering if there was a design or manufacturing flaw. If I rest the book horizontally in my hand, the board curls up slightly. If I flip the book around and try the other side, the same is true. Does anybody else notice this in your copies?

If you are wondering why I have 2 sets... that's because my first set had the very common spine label scratches. The latest set I bought has flawless spine labels, probably because the glassine was still present.

>1 RickFlair: I have a copy in fine condition (both glassines are even still in almost perfect shape), and it does not seem to have any warped boards. The boards are somewhat thin, and the pastedown work on my set has some wrinkling, so it does not surprise me, however, that warping might be a relatively common issue. Maybe post some pictures to compare?

>2 abysswalker: how do yours look in comparison to my pictures?

>4 RickFlair: below you can see pictures of my copy. I don't think I would have noticed the bowing of the boards unless I had been looking for it specifically, but if you look closely you can see a slight warp toward the corners.

(You can click through for high-res images.)

I have come across at least one other set at a local bookshop that seems to be in about the same condition as my copy, at least as I recall (though I wasn't looking for this detail in particular).

To be honest, the yours doesn't look that warped either, though it is a bit more pronounced than my copy.

>5 abysswalker: Very interesting, thank you for that. This has to be a design issue. Our copies are in fantastic condition. There is no way they were abused to the point of getting warped boards.
