Two from Maeve Binchy come to mind - Quentins and Scarlet Feather - they are connected and share some characters, too. Pretty much HEAs for both.

If you like mysteries, lots of Rex Stout's entries in the Nero Wolfe series involve cooking. Too Many Cooks is a murder mystery set at a gourmet dinner hosted by master chefs.

The Cook, by Harry Kressing is a weird combination of horror and black humor.
Like Water for Chocolate, by Laura Esquivel - a magical cook, recipes included
Last Night at the Lobster, by Stewart O'Nan - I love his work! As the title suggests, it's about the last night of a failed restaurant, a little bit sad, but leavened with sweetness and humor.
Babette's Feast, by Isak Dinesen (this is a short story, so look for it in a collection of Dinesen's work)

>1 June: I second the Rex Stout recommendation for mysteries, and add Dianne Mott Davidson's series featuring a caterer. The first is Catering to Nobody and the series finished with #17, The Whole Enchilada.

I really enjoyed The Gourmet by Lu Wenfu, about a gourmet looking for the perfect restaurant in Suzhou, the "Venice of China".
If you're looking for an uplifting read, there's Restaurant of Love Regained by Ito Ogawa.

More mysteries:
Ovidia Yu's Aunty Lee series, set in a small restaurant/catering establishment in Singapore
Corinna Chapman Mysteries by Kerry Greenwood, set in a bakery.
Plus TONS of others in the cozy mystery genre, although I often find them too twee.

Maybe a cosy read like Pomegranate Soup about 3 Iranian sisters living in the west of Ireland. It has recipes!

Does it have to be fiction? Food critics can be very engaging and entertaining. See Garlic and Sapphires

I rather enjoyed the Monsieur Pamplemousse Mysteries when read them a couple of decades ago. Maybe someone else will know if they aged well? (The main character researches restaurants for a guide.)
