This is a long shot as I remember very little about it- but when I was in high school, (around 2001/2002) I read a book during an english lesson that I cant remember the name of.... heres what I remember.... theres a young girl who escapes war from russia I THINK, I remember a part where she's talking about walking in the snow and how cold and numb and tired she was, I think she also grows up and uses a different name, she falls in love (in france somewhere I think) thats all I can remember :/ and its been bugging me for so long! Really hope someone reading this knows what I am talking about! Thanks in advance

>1 Kitty_Jae: Welcome to LT! I'm afraid I don't know the name of the book, but you're more likely to connect with someone who might if you give your thread a descriptive title. You can request a title change at https://www.librarything.com/topic/330123. Also, be sure to check out our tips for posting. Good luck!

what amanda4242 said :-)

Anyway, your description made me think of Anastasia of the Romanovs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Duchess_Anastasia_Nikolaevna_of_Russia
therefore maybe Anastasia: the last grand duchess by Carolyn Meyer?

Maybe The Endless Steppe by Esther Hautzig? Her family was exiled to Siberia during WWII. It's a true story often used in schools.
