Fr Robert J. Schreiter, C.PP.S., 1947-2021 RIP

Fr. Robert J. Schreiter, C.PP.S., was a world-renowned Catholic peacebuilder and a trailblazing scholar. He passed away on June 1. He traveled extensively to areas affected by disasters and conflict and translated that experience into numerous books and articles, as well as praxis, focused on peace, healing, and reconciliation. He was a founding partner of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network, and remained a valued collaborator and mentor. He was a beloved teacher and inspired numerous Catholic theologians. He was a true artisan of peace and will be missed by many.

I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting him from time to time, including when he visited South Sudan to facilitate a conference on peacebuilding. RIP.
