Picturing a Nation: The Great Depression’s Finest Photographers Introduce America to Itself, by Martin W. Sandler. I'd enjoy it and pass it on to my photographer sister.

I was tempted by the Alan Lightman book (I loved Einstein's Dreams), but then I realized it was a children's book!

>2 lilithcat: Picturing a Nation is being offered by Candlewick, so it is also a children's book, although undoubtedly for older children than the Lightman. As someone who reads and enjoys many picture-books, I was rather sad I couldn't enter for the Lightman, actually!

Are these messages going out as profile reminders? - because I don't always see threads like this one

>4 reading_fox: I just got my profile message - they take awhile to roll to everyone :)

Oh! That sure wasn't clear from the description, though on clicking through to the publisher's site, I see that.

I'll leave it for the kids. ;-)

>4 reading_fox: Every LibraryThing member who has signed up for Early Reviewers should get a message on their profile, to the effect that a new batch has gone live. That said, as AnnieMod observes, the process is automated, and it takes a little bit for the system to get to everyone.

>6 lilithcat: Well, I would be the last person to try and discourage adults from reading children's books, given my own interests, but I thought I should mention it, given your mention of the Lightman book. :)

I do sometimes read children's books. Heck, there are 120 with the tag "children's books" in my library. I mostly get them for the illustrations, or if it's a great pop-up book.

Deadly Target (Rocky Mountain Courage #2) by Elizabeth Goddard looks pretty good. I very much enjoyed book 1 of the series.

I am excited that The Burning Swift (Shadow Sky #3) by Joseph Elliott is available. I absolutely loved the first two books.

Just got my copy of The Life and Times of Joe Mora and it's a VERY handsome book! Can't wait to dig into it.
