Hi all,

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I've wondered about this book for probably 40 years, ever since reading the entry "Neverreachhereland" in "The Dictionary of Imaginary Places."

Being unilingual at best, I have no hope of reading this work in French.

Does anyone know if there's an English translation?

And, has anyone here read this? If so, what did you think of it?

The description of Neverreachhereland always touched me greatly. A place of such beauty, but one that can never be reached, and can only ever be glimpsed, such as through the branches of an apple tree seen through somebody else's window...

I've amended the subject title to include the "OT" tag.

I haven't read it, and as far as I know there isn't an English translation, though there is a German one. He was for a long time on the list of J'ai Lu, but doesn't seem to be at the moment. There are illustrated and juvenile versions of it available secondhand, so presumably it isn't too demanding intellectually.

"The Country Where One Never Arrives" ...

Hmm, an intriguing title – methinks this must be a story about international travel during covid ?

:-)

>6 RogerBlake: Your post made me think that Rod Serling and others involved with the Twilight Zone would have had a field day during covid.
