Merging this group with other groups?

I just read a somewhat cryptic conversation in the Inklings group about an apparently active proposal to merge this group with others because of lack of activity here. It isn't clear to me either when this will happen or whether we could do anything to prevent it. If anyone can provide further information on why and when this might happen, I would be very grateful. I would hate to see our conversations be lost. Now might be a good time for us to spend a little time on behalf of our friend Jack.
