What do you count as a sign of spring?

The first sign of spring is usually the crocus. I have lived in this house since 1980 and never planted early spring/summer bulbs as they are gone too soon. However, these tiny critters have come up in spots for the last 31 years!

>2 Tess_W: Oh! That reminds me to take a walk over to daughter's house. Her neighbor across the street has a whole lawn full of those babies! Rose also is celebrating her own first spring garden and sent out a picture of her hellebore blooming. I noted a solitary snowdrop in my lawn yesterday.
I’ve been busy transplanting bulbs and perennials from the old yard; and I’ve already got a touch of poison ivy.

Just saw this thread!

Crocuses, yes, and then the yard turns purple with deadnettle and henbit.

Wild strawberries and violets follow shortly after.

Our tulips and crocuses are not blossoming. The daffodils are. I suspect the others need more water.

Spinach is up, though, and rhubarb coming.
