No author; not sure if bug or misunderstanding

I don't understand what's going on here:
https://www.librarything.com/work/471267/book/196408712

1. No author is shown in bold at the top under the title.
2. But, under Work details, it shows that it's by Colin Thubron.
3. I click on Colin Thubron under Work details
4. It says "You have 1 book and 1 work by Colin Thubron."
5. I click that link.. and get "No books founds."

What's going on?

You didn't enter an author in your catalog. Edit your entry to include the author's name.

"Book" refers to your data in the database for your book, you can edit your book after adding it by using the "Edit your book" link on the left side of the page: https://www.librarything.com/work/471267/book/196408712

"Work" refers to the collected data for all copies of the same book.

Your book doesn't have an author entered, only you can fix that. The work has an author listed, as entered by a majority of other users with the same book. That's why the author shows up under "work details" and the work shows up on the author's page.

You get "No books found" because you don't have any books with Colin Thubron entered as the author.

There's more information on the Concepts page, which I admit can be hard to find: https://www.librarything.com/concepts

Ah, thanks. I added it through search - not direct entry - but the instance of it I added must not have had an author?

>4 ddrucker: yes, that's very probably the cause

However you added it, you can always edit it.

It's always a good idea, after you add a book via a search, to verify the accuracy and completeness of the information.

I'm approaching my 14th year with LT and I've never seen that (helpful) page before ;-)

I'm familiar with these concepts but I too have never encountered this page before... after 13 years.

The link: http://www.shirky.com/writings/ontology_overrated.html

I'm noting that here for when I'm awake enough to remember what to do about it.

>11 aspirit: When you go to correct, you might also want to enter in the work to work relationship updates under what shouldn't be combined. It just says now to be corrected by a future process.(I suck at Wiki editing, otherwise I'd fix it myself.)

Unfortunately, that's not a wiki page. You'll have to report it to staff for them to fix it.
