Author field empty for all records after bulk uploading

I uploaded 2000+ books organized in a csv file using the suggested fields (title, author, date, etc.). For some reason, the author field is blank for all records, but the other fields uploaded with no problems. I deleted my entire library and then uploaded it a second time, with the same problem. Any suggestions?

>1 ArtistsBooksandZines: it sounds like LT isn't recognizing your author column as a valid column. Is your Author (last, first) column an exact match for the one on the sample spreadsheet - same punctuation, spacing, everything?
