I had an alarming experience this morning. When I looked at the "On this day" module on my homepage, it said that a friend of mine (from whom I have been expecting some correspondence) died two years ago! Fortunately, the problem is with incorrectly combined authors.
The author page is here: https://www.librarything.com/author/chappellvere
The data pertaining to each are as follows:
The older author is the one whose dates of birth and death are shown, and he is the author of:
The Cambridge Companion to Locke 149 copies
The Philosophy of Mind 77 copies
Hume: A Collection of Critical Essays 71 copies
Ordinary Language: Essays in Philosophical Method (Editor) 42 copies
Locke 18 copies
Descartes's "Meditations" 7 copies
The Philosophy of David Hume 5 copies
Twenty-five years of Descartes scholarship, 1960-1984 : a bibliography 1 copy
Seventeenth-Century Natural Scientists 1 copy
The younger author (my friend) is the one whose picture is shown, and he is the author/editor of:
Sexual Outlaw, Erotic Mystic: The Essential Ida Craddock 48 copies
Lunar and Sex Worship (Editor) 41 copies, 1 review
It appears that most of the older author's titles were combined from "V.C. Chappell." See this page with "stranded links": https://www.librarything.com/author/chappellvc&norefer=2
I'm experienced with work combination/separation, but author separation is something I haven't handled before, and I don't want to mess it up. Can someone lend a hand?
