Some of us are still working on our Bingo cards, while others have started a second card! If you're currently working on a Bingo, what are you reading this month? Please share below, and don't forget to update the wiki!

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, check out the BingoDOG 2021 planning thread: https://www.librarything.com/topic/325298. Looks like we have more than enough suggestions for squares, but there's still time to add to the list! :)

I have one square left, the "published in the year of your birth" square. To avoid using my actual year of birth, I am using any of the birth years of the members of the Tragically Hip, whose songs are the theme of my challenge. I've lined up Shooting Script, by Gavin Lyall, which was published in 1966, the year drummer Johnny Fay was born.

For the "about a journalist" square, I read If It Bleeds by Stephen King. The title (one story of four) refers to that motto of television news, "If it bleeds, it leads." The story is about a TV reporter who is also something else.

I've got the same two left from several months. I'll be intentional this week. I just need to force myself into the stacks to retrieve books. Hopefully I can remember to do it before the library is open or at least right after it opens and not many are present. I don't like leaving my office once people are in the building unless I absolutely have to do so.

I'm behind this year and still have three more squares to fill although I'm pretty sure I'll finish.

Just filled the "set in Asia" square with The boat people by Sharon Bala.
Based on the real story of a ship arriving in Vancouver filled with refugees from Sri Lanka. Bala does a fantastic job of telling their story and the stories of the officials who must determine if they are legitimate refugees or potential terrorists. When I see refugees arriving I've always thought they were safe, but from now on I will remember this book and know they have a long difficult time ahead to prove their case.

One more square filled, this time with a title having 3 consecutive letters of Bingo.

Bring me Back by B.A. Paris 3★
OK but this psychological mystery was a bit repetitive and had little complexity.

I used The Summer Book for the book published the year i was born. Lovely book that I'd probably not have come across otherwise.
