"I do think there is something REALLY wrong here. Did I have feathers this morning??? We need to talk about this some more...but you go ahead if you have something to say. I can wait and groom my new feathers".

My software has been installed. I've made my 300 book goal this year!!!! Missed it by 1 last year.

>4 gaylebutz: >5 Olivermagnus: Thank you both. I don't believe that I will be crazy enough to increase the number next year but who knows. Thanks again.

>3 Carol420: 300 wow. Color me impressed. Meanwhile back at the ranch, I've read 30 this year so far. Lol

>7 ColinMichaelFelix: Thanks Colin. I imagine that I have a lot more time to read than you do....or anyone that has to work. Been there done that. When I was working I only managed about 50 books a year.

>8 Carol420: Working or not, 300 is an incredible number of books in only ~10 months. Especially when you also find time to watch & review all those movies! Kudos!

>9 ScoLgo: Thanks, ScoLgo. Reading is something that I really enjoy and the movies give me time to rest by brain:)

>10 Carol420: Are they all print or e-books? Or do you also listen to audio while doing other things?

>11 ScoLgo: I prefer to actually hold the book and turn the pages but I do read a lot of ebooks. My library offers it's members Hoopla and Libby which I have used a lot since the virus. I just don't care much for audio books. I find they are too slow and the narrator is sometimes just annoying. I somehow found that I could read at a very early age...I don't remember NOT being able to read. Maybe there is something to reincarnation and I was a computer in a previous life:) I also found that I can read and remember more than one book at the same time. I don't know how this works but it does. I have a cousin that can do amazing things with numbers...which I avoid like the plague.

>12 Carol420: I like print books too. E-books are really convenient though. I borrow lots of them from the library. Haven't used Libby yet. I use Overdrive to borrow kindle and epub and Hoopla for graphic novels and movie/TV streams. Audio books might work for me if I had a commute but I work from home and, being a computer-based job, listening to a book is simply too distracting so, no audio for me either.

>13 ScoLgo: Libby is basically Overdrive Lite - doesn't have all the features that the regular Overdrive app has. The other popular app is cloudlibrary - some libraries use multiple apps and have different selections by app.

Not spent much time on LT because there've been so many problems with it for me - no touchstones; not being able to add posts; not even being able to edit posts - so I've missed these birthdays, 🙁.

Time to make amends...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDREW AND HEATHER! HOPE YOU BOTH HAD VERY ENJOYABLE DAYS, 😀🎉🎁🎂🍾

>20 Sergeirocks: I've had problems on some of my groups with the Touchstones also. I haven't had any of the other problems that you've had (KNOCK ON WOOD) I was going to check on you if we didn't hear from you soon. Andrew is swamped but he's okay.

I did have a fun birthday, thanks! We don't go out anywhere anymore, so we just got pizza with the one friend in our small bubble.

Will things ever be normal again...or will this be the way we view "normal" from now on? I notice that when you see people getting out of their cars they are automatically putting on a mask and when a line forms in the store, they don't even have to put the 'X" or the big circles on the floors anymore...people just stand 6 feet back.

With CA freaking out about the surge in hospitalizations that they've had in the past couple of weeks, most of the state is back into the most restrictive tier which closed down a lot of indoor activities (bars, restaurants, gyms, churches) and led to a curfew (!) - and now people are panic buying again so that there's no toilet paper or sanitizer (or food staples) in the stores. I have to get back to WI in December (my mother's not coping very well with my dad's death) so I hope they don't impose new travel restrictions in either location. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the way people are handling things - and some actions they're taking seem ridiculous/nonsensical. (ie put cling-wrap on the buttons of the POS machines at the grocery store to "help stop the spread of covid" then have all customers use/touch that same cling-wrap without changing in between)
