Middle school disabled student personality+. Not Wonder.

I've had another book confused with Wonder; but a recent re-read proved me wrong.

In Wonder, Augie is reluctant to stop homeschooling and enter a regular school. He is quietly persistent, with plenty of encouragement from family, and finally wins over his classmates.

The book I'm thinking of is similar, except that the main character presses his parents to begin regular school and is brash and funny in his encounters with classmates. I can't remember what his disabilities are.

The only thing that comes to mind is Out of My Mind. Female lead with cerebral palsy.
