Hello,
I am trying to find a historical romance novel that I realy want to read. This book is hard to identify because I only read part of it and that was at least five years ago. What I do remember is how it started. It starts off with the girl who is from the Scottish highland with either some type of witch or shaman helping her have a vision of her future intended. Instead of the predicted Scottish man it turns out to be a proper Englishman. The plot then goes on to have her engaged to an English (knight or noble I'm not sure). However, when she arrives to meet her betrothed there are several issues. One is that the man she is betrothed to is already married but the king plans to dissolve that marriage (may have been from a previous book in a possible serries). Two, there is another “knight” that catches her eye. Does anyone recognize this story?

I'm not familiar with this particular plot, but the theme is pretty in-line with Juliet Marillier's books. It might be one of hers?

Hi. I am new here. i am trying to find the name of a historical romance I read years ago. It was an arranged marriage. Prior to the marriage there was a ball which the heroine attended. She stops by some bushes to fix her shoe and she hears a man and a woman talking. The man is promising that he will continue his affair with her after his marriage.
The following day the heroine in introduced to her future husband who turns out to be the guy from the night before. She treats him with scorn and he cannot understand why.
I remember also that the hero has a brother named Robin who has a gambling problem and often asks the heroine for money in a clandestine way which leads to hero to suspect that they are having an affair.
At some point the heroine also rescues a cat.
Any help ny one can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
