Series "has no relationship with" relationships

It doesn't appear that the "not a relationship" relationship connection between series is functioning as originally designed in that it does not keep the irrelevant series from displaying in the overlapping/related series section (thus contributing to clutter on the series page after all). Also, once a non-relationship relationship is defined, it doesn't seem to be possible to edit.

The issue:
(1) The no-relationship relationship shows up as a type of relationship on the related series listings; and
(2) The no-relationship relationships are missing/hidden on the "edit series: relationships/combine page," and therefore are not editable or removable.

Additionally:
(3) While it makes total sense that two series could be related in two different ways, it makes no sense that it is possible for series a to "have no relationship to" series b while simultaneously also being a subseries or having some other defined relationship.*

*I encountered this issue while attempting to redefine a relationship, hoping it would overwrite the non-relationship, revert to an editable relationship type, and then be removable.

Some or several of these implementations seem like bugs... Is it possible that the non-relationship relationship type was meant to be invisible (thus suppressing it from the series relationships / overlapping series on the series page), and instead this type of relationship was made invisible on / suppressed from the "edit series: relationships/combine page"?

Both gabriel and I have put in a fair amount of effort trying to eliminate the non-relationship relationships between the (among others) Little House novels, chronological order, Wolves Chronicles (Chronological Order), The Tripods, and Wolves Chronicles (Publication Order) series, to no avail, despite the fact that the offending anthologies that caused the "overlapping series" notice to begin with have been removed from the series.

A possible indication of another related bug:
(4) Some of the non-relationship relationships are only seen on one side of the connection. For instance, the Little House series page shows non-relationships to all the other three listed, but the non-relationship relationship to Little House is only displayed on the Wolves Chronicles (Chronological Order) series page. Similarly, The Tripods shoes a non-relationship relationship with Wolves Chronicles (Chronological Order) that doesn't show at the Wolves series page. This goes on, with several permutations.

>2 amanda4242: Maybe. If that's true it's a pretty precise order of operations timing issue related to a removing the overlapping work though (and I tried a few different variations of redefining the series relationships with a book from the other series added at the time and didn't get anything to budge).

Wolves Chronicles (Publication Order doesn't show a relationship with Little House and its edit history shows both:
1) Added series relationship: Little House novels, chronological order has no relationship with Wolves Chronicles (Chronological Order).
2) Added series relationship: Wolves Chronicles (Publication Order) has no relationship with Little House novels, chronological order.

And then on the Little House page the Wolves non-relationship does show up and shows:
1) Added series relationship: Little House novels, chronological order has no relationship with Wolves Chronicles (Chronological Order).
2) Added series relationship: Wolves Chronicles (Publication Order) has no relationship with Little House novels, chronological order.

In the case of both series, at least one direction/iteration of the "no relationship" relationship was defined prior to removing Illustrated Treasury of Modern Literature for Children, the anthology which happened to contain a short story version of Little House on the Prairie and I guess something from Wolves which caused the issues in the first place.

You might be on to something though. Before the anthology was removed from Wolves, it appears both directions of the non-relationship relationship w/Little House were created, and it's where the relationship doesn't show up. For Little House, one direction of the non-relationship was created prior to removal of the anthology, and the other afterwards.

...on the other hand, there are a couple of series edits I made and tested that don't show up on the series edit page. For instance, on Little House it shows me making wolves a subseries to try to override the no-relationship relationship, and while I definitely had to remove it explicitly (and it's not there anymore), the removal doesn't show up on the series edit page. So, I'm not entirely sure we can rely on the series edit history to tell us the exact order of operations that worked or didn't.
