I think the girl that wasn't returned after the last kidnapping is still alive and being kept down the hall from the girls. The way Symes' steps were described as coming to the door, then proceeding down the hall then returning makes me think that he was making a delivery to another room.

Kim may end up finding 3 kidnapped girls instead of just the 2.

I wonder if there were also once two of the "girl down the hall". Seems they may just collect the money but keep the girl whose family paid alive for some reason. Interesting.

>2 bhabeck: Interesting idea. Hadn’t thought of it but the story did detail those steps as if it was important.

I've been thinking all day about the Robert/Lee situation and Kim's request for Allison to start a page for subject 3. Some of you have indicated that Robert may already suspect something about Lee. Based on him perhaps knowing...not just suspecting... that she's Lee child...what do you think of the possibility that Robert is subject 3 and the instigator of the entire kidnapping?

Basis for My Reasoning.
1. Amy Hanson isn't his child...she's Lee's...but he doesn't plan on her being the one killed. Charlie will be the victim because he'll never be serious about offering any amount of money. It will all come from Stephen. He knows that Stephen will offer more because he has more money and will be the only player.

2. He may be doing it because he either needs money for some reason that we haven't seen yet OR he just wants to torment Stephen because he can.

3. He's not a big fan of Stephen...we've been told that he doesn't even especially like him. We have already learned that he tolerates him for his wife's friendship with Karen.

4. He would be able to distance himself for the crime...collect the money...get his wife her daughter back and either never have to see Stephen again or enjoy his money while giving false sympathy.

Just a thought...but I'm interested in what you think based on what we have learned about the two families thus far. Tell me where I could be wrong.

>5 Carol420: I was actually considering Stephen as Suspect #3. I think he may be strapped for cash and this was his way to get some money. Probably met Will as part of his job if Will has been in trouble with the law. Also, he knew Inga and we got the impression early on that Will was asked to take Inga on as part of this operation. Perhaps Stephen was having an affair with Inga and this is a way to get rid of her while making some money.

>6 bhabeck: Okay...that also works. No matter how it works out it seems a good chance that Robert or Stephen is suspect #3. I didn't give Stephen much thought because Charlie IS his daughter... but parents kill their children all the time and go home to dinner. I hope the others add their opinions. This could be interesting.

I think Carol's ideas sound quite possible.

>5 Carol420: That would fit with ‘look closer’, wouldn’t be surprised if he is involved.
