Why would the kidnapper tell the girls what he had done to Brad?

He's sadistic and enjoys seeing them scared. I didn't like some of these parts because Symes is really a monster. Perhaps he also thinks he can control them with fear.

He's a monster who gets satisfaction out of scaring little girls. I think he would enjoy being able to hurt them, but even the threat excites him.

I agree with everyone that Symes likes to scare the girls as he is a monster.
