Name that book.

Hi there,
I'm trying to find a book that my family and i listened to on audiobook years ago. I can't remember the name of it. All i remeber is that there was a secondary character named Claire who was an aspiring actress who dies after being sick after the holiday season. Theres a scene where she gets sick after coming home from an audition. Thats all I can remember. The main character (can't remember the name) then moves in with new roommates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
