What happened in Fantasy since 2011 or so?

Hello everybody,
I was quite an avid fantasy reader until about 2011. I read A Dance with Dragons and The Wise Man's Fear when they came out, but after these I moved on to read mostly other stuff and then had a period where I read barely anything at all.
Now I am getting back into Fantasy books and I realize that the series I loved back then are still unfinished :) While there are still enough classics to read or re-read, I was wondering what happened in Fantasyland since then. Any recommendations of newer books I absolutely should read?
For reference - Fantasy Authors I have enjoyed in the past include the usual suspects, like J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Terry Pratchett, J.K. Rowling, Patrick Rothfuss, Joe Abercrombie and Neil Gaiman. I recently enjoyed the Witcher shortstories by Andrzej Sapkowski, but took a bit of a break after the first novel of the series.
I was not the biggest fan of Terry Brooks and most German Fantasy authors (Bernhard Hennen is okay, the rest is pretty meh...). Also, I am not at all into fantasy romance stuff.

Read anything and everything by N.K. Jemisin. Her newest is The City We Became. She won Hugos for the Broken Earth trilogy, starting with The Fifth Season. There's more, but that's a starting place.

Read Anna Stephens, Jen Williams, Mark Lawrence, Ed McDonald, Robin Hobb, Daniel Abraham, Robert Jackson Bennett, Marie Brennan, Sebastien de Castell, ...

reconditereader: Wow, first recommendation, and I am painfully aware how much of my Fantasy reading in the past has been done by white dudes. I'd have to check, but it has probably consisted of white dudes + Rowling, Anne Rice (not a fan, tbh) and Lian Hearn... a bit embarassing. Thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely take a look at the Broken Earth Trilogy.

They're all quite different (and I second Jemisin and her 'Broken Earth' trilogy, but again, quite different), so I suggest you read a couple of blurbs or reviews, and don't feel you have to finish a book you're not enjoying.
And no worries, many people in your situation - but there are lots of amazing women writers and non-white writers, so yeah, spread your wings a bit ;)
