What did you think Dr Alexandra Thorne was up to? Why?

She is definitely a piece of work. She seems very odd for a psychiatrist who works up the patients to do what she wants them to do. She doesn’t want the police involved as she may feel it’s a slow means for justice. She has her own views on revenge and justice.

It sounds like she's using these patients as some sort of experiments.

The doc was obviously preparing to manipulate Ruth in some way. Using the letter opener (knife) as a focal point suggested evil intent.
So early in the game, I couldn't work out her intent. It was only as the section progressed that it became clear the doc was a sociopath.

I don't like her....I don't trust her...she is evil with a capital "E". She is doing some type of experiment and using these damaged people. I don't believe she has any desire to help them what so ever. There also appears to be someone in her family that she has tortured in her childhood and appears to be still trying to torture. Maybe a sister or a brother???

Right away it seemed that she was doing something bad with Ruth and then became obvious that she was a sociopath. She's all evil as >5 Carol420: said. She has no empathy, no conscience and doesn't care at all about people. She will just do what she wants with no regard for other people. She's conducting experiments but I don't know why.

Sounds like she’s manipulating her patients - whether as a true (unprofessional) experiment or just to satisfy her own need for control and pain, I don’t know
