Did you enjoy the first book in the series? What do you hope for in this one?

I did enjoy the first book. Kim is a very interesting policewoman and I’m looking forward to finding out more about her.

I love this series. I have read them all. I don't remember a lot about this one, in particular, but I'll just not answer questions where I do remember.

I gave the first book 4.5★s, I'm hoping Marsons can continue to deliver on that promising start.

The first book got a 4.60 rating from 5 people. I gave it a 5 rating, so I have high hopes for this one.

If you don't hear from me for awhile after today...it's because we have no electricity. There is supposed to be an ice storm moving in Saturday afternoon and that always produces power outages with ice on the lines. 1 to 2 inches is expected.

>6 Carol420: Don't send it my way as we are having 64 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

>7 EadieB: You've already had a fair share of Mother Nature to deal with while we had above average temperatures...so you're safe...this time. I wouldn't wish ice on my worst enemy...which you are certainly NOT.

>8 Carol420: Ok Thanks! but January sure has been a bit warm this year! I'm afraid for what February has in store for us.

>8 Carol420: >9 EadieB: I always think February can be the coldest month, but at least Spring is around the corner then.

Loved the first book and just want to feel the same about this book, as well as completing West Midlands for the Tour!

Ok, so. I just this minute finished the first book. Loved it! I think kim is my fav police detective now. Good at her job, quirky, and with a heartbreaking backstory that gives her a real heart and soul. I am so looking forward to book 2. I’m far behind you all and much slower at reading now, but i’ll post comment or two in the GR as i go.

>11 bluebird_: The beauty of this group is that we take the book in sections, so it's easy to read at our own speeds, no pressures to try to keep pace with everyone. Enjoy the read, bluebird.

>11 bluebird_: You are welcome to join in at anytime. I'll watch for your posts. I like Kim also. Her team works together and gets along without the backstabbing that is so prominent in most detective series.

>14 Andrew-theQM: Thank you for the link. I love the TV series and own all the sets that are on DVD to this date. The last TV season is on Amazon so I will have to add it to the collection. I can't believe how different the two sides of Brenda Blethyn are. I was also pleased that the TV writers are prepared to continue the series for TV even if Ann Cleeves gives her up.
