Sign up here to host a month for RandomCAT!
Hosts should aim to post their thread on the 15th of the previous month. For example, if you want to host the February RandomCAT, you'd be posting the thread on January 15. I'll add volunteers to this post as they pick a month. I've started by picking August.

I would just like to add that I have hosted a RandomCat month every year that we have been doing the Cat Challenges so if someone new would like to host and you've run out of months, I would be more than happy to step aside.

Looks like October is left, and that's my birthday month, I would be happy to host if no one else wants it.
24dudes22
Thank you everyone for volunteering. If, for some reason, you don't think you'll be able to do your month, just let me know and I'll see if I can find someone who will.
Now I need help setting up the wiki.....(beg, beg, beg).

Oh thank you !!! You're the best! Not that I'm unwilling to learn. I saw LibraryChin (?) said there was a way you could copy an old one. But I had no idea where to put it.
ETA: If we weren't going to be rather far from you in Fla this winter, I'd buy you a lunch.

32Kristelh
>31 dudes22: I love the picture too, and I wonder, how does anyone get that many cats to lie in order and not move for a picture. Are these your cats? or a picture you found?
33dudes22
>32 Kristelh: - oh - heavens no - I'm more a dog person. It was just a picture I found on Google Images (I think that was where it was.)

I have planned all the other CATs and KITs already, but I love the surprise factor of RandomCAT!

How do most people handle rereads? Do you only do new books for CATs? Are rereads okay if it's been a certain number of years or if, like me, you don't remember much of it after a couple years?
I'm rereading a book that I first read four years ago but I'm remembering only some of the bare basics. I can't even remember how it ends.

46majkia
>45 Morphidae: Entirely up to you. I count re-reads for CATs. Others might not but I certainly do. So do as you wish!
47LibraryCin
>45 Morphidae: I don't reread very often, but the odd times I do, I will always count them!
49fuzzi
>45 Morphidae: I don't reread for challenges very often, as I am trying to read off my shelves, but I don't see anything wrong with doing so.
50EBT1002
>45 Morphidae: and >49 fuzzi: I agree. I've been known to do a reread for a challenge although it's rare. But it's hardly breaking any rules. #NoRules

Hi everyone, I apologize for the lateness of the April thread. With all the craziness the last couple of weeks, working from home, and making sure my mother stays put, I completely forgot about it. I do have a plan and I hope to have it ready tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
55majkia
>54 lsh63: Given all that's going on, no problem! Take care of yourself and your loved ones. That's a lot more important than a RandomCAT!
56LadyoftheLodge
>54 lsh63: Thanks for the update, no problem! It's not like we are all lacking in stuff to do or to read. ;+)
57JayneCM
>54 lsh63: No problems here - I am still trying to finish March reads! Hope you and your mum are keeping well and safe.

>54 lsh63: thanks for letting us know. Stuff happens.

Hi there! RandomCAT planning is up for 2021. Some months still do not have hosts, so check it out if interested.
