One ARC for a multiple time period novel to be published 7/19: Home for Erring and Outcast Girls by Julie Kibler.

One ARC by an author I don't usually read because I hate Renaissance/Tudor court novels, but this doesn't seem to be such: Tidelands by Philippa Gregory, to be published 8/19.

Renee, both of those sound interesting!

So far this month I've used 2 credits to get The Golden Hour by Beatriz Williams and Recursion by Blake Crouch from Book of the Month, and 2 credits on Audible to get "Women Talking About Cars" (I think it's collection 6) featuring Victoria Corren Mitchell, Olivia Coleman, and a few others, and to get Riding the Elephant by Craig Ferguson.

With actual money I bought Creating A Life Worth Living by Carol Lloyd. I heard about it from one of my favorite creative people, Jamie Ridler, on her youtube channel. I think it'll be the book I didn't know I've been looking for for decades.

Speaking of actual money: today I bought 2 books.

* Lawless and the Devil of Euston Square by William Sutton (book 1 of an historical mystery series -- had good reviews)

* The Regency Years: During which Jane Austen Writes, Napoleon Fights, Byron Makes Love, and Britain Becomes Modern by Robert Morrison (yes, it's history)

One last splurge while I had an increased discount: I ordered two items to ship to me.

I bought one hardcover history book

* Heyday: The 1850s and the Dawn of the Global Age by Ben Wilson

and an audiobook

* Meditations for Happiness by Rick Hanson

which I think makes 5 works of his I own, including two in print:

* Buddha's Brain and
* Just One Thing

and two audiobooks

* Meditations to Change Your Brain and
* Stress-Proof Your Brain

My audiobook and history book arrived...and then I caved to a CD sale (30% off, plus frequent buyer discount, plus I had coupons) and bought 7 items:

* _The Golden Years: 1938-1942_ Glen Miller (4 CD set)
* _The Absolutely Essential 3 CD Collection_ Spike Jones
* _Absolute Rollers: The Very Best of the Bay City Rollers_
* _The Full Monty: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack_ ++
* _Control_ Janet Jackson
* _Super Hits_ Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam
* _No Parlez_ Paul Young ++

++ = replacing a cassette

Here endeth my confession. Of course, the sale goes for 2 more days. Willpower, willpower, willpower....

Last week I picked up Wild Tales: A Rock and Roll Life by Graham Nash for my dad for Father's Day. I kind of got him hooked on autobiographies a couple years ago so now it is fun to track down things I think he'll like for holidays and such.

Willpower failed. Will have to look for a book by Roy Baumeister or Kelly McGonigal...

Saturday I found another coupon and bought two more CDs:

* _Bless 'Em All: Humorous Songs from World War II_
* _World War II Songs: As Time Goes By_ (3 CD set)

Added two more ARCs, and bought an exercise book:

* The Sisters of Summit Avenue by Lynn Cullen (pub date 9/19; historical fiction)
* The Ventriloquists by E.R. Ramzipoor (pub date 8/19; historical fiction)

* Stay Fit for Life by Joshua Kozak (it's DK Publishing, so it's very pictorial; besides dumbbells, there's almost no other equipment needed; it gives you a variety of combinations of movements depending on what you're trying to achieve; and it gives you some calendars for what days of the month you should do certain combinations depending on ditto)

One more ARC, a contemporary romance due to be published in July: The One Who Stays by Toni Blake.

And one final expenditure this month, because it had a couple of starred reviews, a book on WWII: The Darkest Year: The American Home Front 1941-1942 by William K. Klingaman.
