Hello all ~~

Maybe it's because I already want to move on to spring, but I figure it's never too early to start thinking about potential future authors; let's think about which authors we might want to discuss in April-June.

Please nominate as many authors as you want by adding them to this thread by March 1. Feel free to second anyone's nominations as well.

Remember that previous authors within the last two years are not up for nomination again. Here is a list of the previous authors for your reference: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Monthly_Author_Reads

I'll pick the Apr/May/Jun authors from the nominees, with a preference for any that get seconds so be sure to second any nominees that sound interesting to you.

Thanks! :)

I'll start us off by nominating...

George Sand
Sylvia Plath
Edna St. Vincent Millay
A.S. Byatt
Neil Gaiman

Just realized I forgot the word "nominations" in the title of this thread. 🙄 Too late at night for starting projects I guess!

I will second Byatt as that might be the push I need to get Possession.

How about Margaret Atwood? No idea when she was reviewed last but I have a bunch of hers to re-read.

I second Margaret Atwood! I want to buy a few of her books when I go back to the States this holiday season.

>4 Yells:, >5 lilisin: It's been long enough since we read Margaret Atwood that we could definitely do another discussion. I'll third that nomination! :)

Don't forget to nominate or second authors! Exactly one month from today is when those are due. :)

Hmm, I thought at some point we had Patricia Highsmith as an author, but it appears we didn't. After reading this New Yorker piece https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/11/30/forbidden-love, I am more interested than ever than reading some of her works so I'm going to nominate her as well!

I'll second that! I have been meaning to read Strangers on a Train. I loved The Talented Mr Ripley so maybe even read the sequel. Hmmm....

I'm also interested in Atwood and Highsmith.

Would others be interested in George Bernard Shaw? I recently reread Pygmalion which I love and I'm curious about his other work.
