Dozens of cat mummies found in 6,000-year-old tombs in Egypt

A slightly confusing report of tombs on the edge of the pyramid complex at Saqqara, including a 5th Dynasty tomb (early 25th century-mid 24th century BC), containing cat, lion, cow and falcon statues, mummified cats and scarab beetles, and scarab, cobra and crocodile sarcophagi. All Egyptian life (death) is here. No word on any human occupants. The mummified scarabs are "really unique ... really a bit rare".
The report doesn't explain how they get 6,000 years old. Twenty fifth century BC-21st century AD only makes c.4,500 years old. I hope some PR bod somewhere didnt think "third millenium BC-third millenium AD has a nice ring to it, equals 6,000 years".

I find that the more I learn about life in ancient Egypt, the stranger (creepier?) it gets. (Fascinating, though!)
Being someone who does not like cats (sorry!), I wanted to offer an interesting find about "perhaps the greatest forgotten treasure of ancient Egypt," that is, poetry!
