Slip case touchup

I bought a book with a black slipcase. It feels like kind of a textured cardboard. The slipcase is black, but has some white scuffs on it. I am trying to return this case to pristine condition. How do I touch up these scuffs and make this slipcase look like new?

Is it just scuffs or has it actually cut and removed paper from the slipcase?

The door to my bedroom is white and it hit one of my slipcases and left a white scuff mark. I was able to pretty easily remove it with a rubber eraser. No paper had been cut or torn away from the slipcase.
