Hi,

I am still learning my way around LibraryThing. I have a question about module options on the home page.

According to https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/HelpThing:Home

It states:

"Customizing your Home page

Your home page is fully customizable. There are many available modules which can be turned on or off by clicking the "customize this page" link at the top next to your user name. Modules can also be re-ordered by clicking the "customize" link and dragging and dropping within the list."

I do not see the "customize this page" link at the top next to my username.

I am hoping to add a module that would show the book that I am currently reading along with the book cover. I realize that I can see the info under "Your Collections" but I'd like to see the book cover on the home page.

Does this module exist?

Thanks!

Tammy

That link doesn't exist, is why you don't see it. Sometimes things get moved around and the instructions don't always get updated.

To customize your layouts, try the following:

1. When you are logged in, if you are not already on the Home page, click on "Home" in the brown heading bar (sometimes on LT we call it the chocolate bar)
2. You'll see a list of categories on the left side such as "Dashboard" and "About You" as well as a several others. This list of categories does not change, however you can adjust what you see in each category and move some things from one category to another.
3. Browse the different 'modules'. I don't know what the defaults are, because I changed EVERYTHING, but each section has commands on the right side that say some or all of the following, "Reorder, add-to, remove, settings." "Reorder" moves that section up or down the page. "Add-to" moves it to a different category page. "Remove" removes that section from the category page that you're on. And "settings" will let you change things about that particular section.
4. Anything you "remove" without specifying where you want to put it goes into the "folly" category.

Just play around with it; you can't break it.

As far as I know there isn't a particular module that displays the cover of your currently reading book. On your profile page (when you click your user name) books that you put into the "currently reading" collection will show up as text at the bottom of your profile, above the comments. On my profile page I have pictures of my books, but I have added them in myself using HTML in the text box.

Hope this helps a little.
